This is an answer song from Fujiwara-no Bunin, a wife of Emperor Tenmu, and she retorted to the Emperor’s teasing by saying that it was HER place where the snow came first, by her earnest prayer to God, and it‘s only a couple of broken pieces of a snow flake that went down to his “posh” place. “Come on, you wait for me, and I can be with you soon” – she may have been placating her irritant husband.
