Influence from Chinese Literature

Back in these times in 6-7-8th centuries, Buddhism came from China, so did Chinese Characters, and so did Chinese Literature.

Man-Yoh-Shuh, a fledgling poetry literature compilation received a lot of influence from Chinese literature, especially from Chinese poetry (Kanshi = 漢詩)。
It has been long argued in the literature circle as to this point, and as an example, this piece by our idol, Princess Nukata, may well have been influenced by a Chinese poem. There is even a theory that this poem is not the work of hers, but rather one by somebody else who let Princess Nukata’s name slip in to give a romantic atmosphere to the poem, or to give a tribute to her. Princess Nukata was a famous love romance poetess and befitted the atmosphere of the poem.
