Overcast around,
Snowfall would ne’er seem to stop.
As yet in my grounds,
There’s a nightingale on top
Of a tree, with merry sounds...
(Vol.8-1441)
While there seems to be a winter landscape visually dominating, there sounds to be an audible sign of a spring with a nightingale tweeting – an interesting effect of a contrast.
Poet, Yakamochi, wrote this piece at the age of 15.
