モリシップランの万葉集英訳

VOLUME-4
☆Kasa-no Iratsume’s poem:

相思はぬ
 人を思ふは
  大寺の
餓鬼の後に
 額づくがごと
 (笠郎女 巻4-608)

Ahi omohanu
 Hitowo omohuha
  Ohoterano
Gakino shiriheni
 Nukazukuga goto

Of all the loves ‘round,
Mine’s an unrequited one,
That you always shun.
It’s like kneeling to the ground
For Preta’s back in a temple...
(Vol.4-608)

Another piece by Lady Kasa –
Kasa-no Iratsume sings her emotions of solitude and lingering affection in a strong and passionate phrase, and even degrades herself to a position where she feels as if she was begging and praying to the rear of Preta – a hungry and lowly spirit in Buddhism/ Hinduism world. (per Mr. Ogawa in his book)
