「サチコ」は息の長い名曲ですね。　歌の舞台は、福岡・博多の中州と思われます。那珂川が歌われています。　夜の繁華街と言えば、東京では銀座・赤坂・六本木、北は札幌のすすき野、西は博多の中州が有名で、これらの街を舞台に多くの歌が歌い継がれています。　「サチコ」の歌い手・主人公は、昔の恋人の面影を求めて今宵も那珂川の畔をさまよい歩き、ネオンから顔をそむけるようにしながらも、恋人の名を空に向かって呼び続けます。　この歌の英語版を作って見ました。福岡から一時間余りの佐世保に米軍基地もあり、佐世保の夜も米軍の皆さんの顔をよく見かけます。　米軍さんと一緒に飲み、共に歌ってみませんか。　そしてこの「演歌ブルース」とでも呼ぶべき歌で、交流を深めてはいかがでしょう。

This song, “Sachiko”, written by Mr. O. Tanaka, and sung by Nick Nyusa, is a long-running hit, singing about a man, heart-broken and downcast, but still trying to reach out for his old sweetheart in Fukuoka by night. The singer, Nick Nyusa, may or may not be a foreign artist, probably a Japanese, and most likely the songwriter himself (Mr. Tanaka). The song may be dubbed an Enka-Blues hybrid song. If a foregin resident sing it, he may become very popular among his friends! - especially if/when you sing calling the name of your own sweetheart, or the name(s) of your singing/drinking companion(s)!
