“Bells Of Love” (愛の鐘) Original Japanese lyrics by Reiko Kaminaka Music by Shuko Tada Arranged by Hiroshi Nagashima (English lyrics by Hidekazu Morishima) This song, composed by the up-and-coming singer-songwriter Ms. Shuko Tada, with lyrics by Ms. Reiko Kaminaka, sings about the singer’s aspiration and pursuit of peace and love. The song is sung as a coupling piece of the main piece, “Natsukashaya” in her new CD, released July 2018. I’m working on the English lyrics for this main piece, “Natsukashaya”, and hope to get it out soon. I must point out that the original song sung with Japanese lyrics has a faster tempo, while this tune with English lyrics is sung with pretty much of a slower tempo. The reason for it is that Japanese lyrics consist of words with many more vowels than the corresponding English words (a typical difference between Japanese and English languages), and the English translation (an atmospheric translation, as I call it) has so more words in the same lines of melody, thus requiring more time sequence in singing it out.
